Guidelines
for Oral Presentations
Allocated time for
an oral presentation is 17 minutes INCLUDING questions. This means that
the length of presentation shall not exceed 15 minutes. There will be
a central time schedule in all conference rooms, so please, plan your
presentation to fit the time allowed. This is to make movement between
sessions possible.
To make the
program run smoothly, we request that you prepare a Power Point presentation.
Files should not exceed 10 MB in volume. Please note that most e-mail
programs encrypt the message in such a way that it consumes lot of Mbs.
Because of the limit of 10 Mb on our mail server, the actual presentation
file should not exceed 7 Mb. If you are not able to prepare a presentation
file which is under 7Mb, please compress the file by using WinZip. However,
the size of uncompressed presentation file should still not exceed 10
Mb. If you are not able to compress your file, please send your presentation
on cd in regular mail to Janne Kotiaho, Department of Biological
and Environmental Sciences, PO Box 35, 40014 University of Jyväskylä,
Finland.
Please, do
not use font size of smaller than 18 in the main text body. Try to use
Windows versions 2000 or later in order to avoid technical problems.
Save your presentation
file as follows: surname_initials_city
(example: alatalo_rv_jyvaskyla). Please use only English alphabets.
Send the
Power Point file for your oral presentation in advance, at latest 2nd
July, to the email address [E-Mail Removed]
and bring an additional security copy on CD with you.
Should you
plan to include video or other parts to your presentation requiring more
space, please contact [E-Mail Removed]
in advance. In extreme circumstances formats other than Power Point could
be accepted. In that case please contact [E-Mail Removed].

SEND YOUR FILE ONLY ONCE!
Please note that the
program does not send an automatic reply when the file is received. We
will start to process your presentations on 15th June. As soon as possible
we will send you confirmation that your file is working properly.
